Happy Monday/Ten Happy Things #17

It's Monday, it's the start of the week, and I'm joining up as ever with Katy and Jasmin for a lovely, positive start to the week. I didn't do a happy Monday last week, as other responsibilities and general busy-ness got in the way but there's been plenty of happy going on, no fear!

1. Hibernating

While I've still been getting out and about, the rest of the time I've been embracing to cosy in full. What a lovely thing it is to be curled up inside a warm house as the rain lashes down outside. Such a simple, wholesome pleasure.

2. Brunch with some lovely ladies

Yesterday a few of us got together to celebrate the lovely Jasmin's birthday. It was so nice to catch up over brunch and to see Jasmin, Katy, Charlie and Leanne, and the meet Chloe too. We had great chats at Cambridge Street Kitchen then went for a walk around town, stopping off at Dominique Ansell to ogle at gorgeous cakes and to pick up a cronut or two.

3. Toasting a new Smiths

Last week I was invited to the opening of a new Smiths of Smithfield, just opposite Cannon Street station. I took the lovely Milly as my plus-one and we had a great time checking out the venue, sampling lots of delicious canapes (the steak was as awesome as you'd expect, and the coconut macaroon were divine) and sipping prosecco.

4. Walking around London

Whether it's the pretty streets of Belgravia or romping through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it's the perfect time to explore the city on foot.

5. My newsletter

Every Sunday, just a little letter out into the world. If you'd like to join, I'd love to have you.

6. Good cocktails close to home

I love going out for cocktails in town, and I love mixing my own at home, but I'm so glad we have the lovely Tina, We Salute You nearby for a quick Saturday snifter! Cracking espresso martini.

7. Celebrating with Santa Maria del Sur

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the tenth anniversary party for Santa Maria del Sur, the cutest Argentinian restaurant in SW London. A more fullsome review to follow, but it was a great event and I loved catching up with the lovely Katy, as well as getting to introduce her to Matthew, and getting to meet Katy's boyfriend Gary as well. Great food and good company is always a superb combo!

8. Cats

More time at home = more time with the gang (plus Simba, our lodger-cat).

9. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

I wasn't sure how I'd find this movie, but the worry was for naught. Really enjoyed it and clearly now need both a Niffler and Newt's Hufflepuff scarf in my life.

10. Christmas preparations

With lots of visits in the next few weeks, it's been time to start getting sorted. Love this season of preparation and excitement!

Have a lovely week, all.
